Arcwell Systems Ltd. is a software engineering and cloud integration studio registered in England & Wales, with its office at Maple House, 24 Carlow Street, Manchester M1 4ER, United Kingdom. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Arcwell is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

The information we collect

We collect only what we need. In practice this falls into a few categories:

• Information you give us. When you contact us by email or through our contact form, you may share your name, email address, company name, and the details of your enquiry. You decide what to include.
• Information about your visit. Like most websites, our web server records standard technical information in its logs, such as the requested page, the time of the request, a truncated IP address, and the browser's user-agent string. This is used to keep the site secure and working correctly.
• Correspondence. If you email or call us, we keep a record of that correspondence so we can respond and maintain a history of our discussions.

Records relating to clients and contracts are kept for the duration of the relationship and for as long afterwards as we are required to retain them for legal and accounting purposes, typically up to seven years. Server logs are rotated and deleted on a rolling short-term basis.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only where necessary, and only with parties who are bound to protect it: for example, our email and hosting providers acting on our instructions, and professional advisers such as our accountants. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so. Where a provider processes data on our behalf, we put an appropriate data processing agreement in place.

International transfers

Wherever possible we use providers located within the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. If any information is transferred outside these areas, we make sure an appropriate safeguard recognised under applicable law — such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses — is in place to protect it.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep personal information safe. Our website is served exclusively over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to client data is limited to the people who need it, protected by strong authentication, and reviewed regularly. We keep our systems patched and we design our infrastructure with backups and recovery in mind. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat the protection of your information as a core part of our work.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, to ask us to delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. We will respond within the time required by law, normally within one month.

If you are in the United Kingdom and you believe we have not handled your information properly, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We would, of course, appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Our website and services are intended for businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
